Our Richmond and Melton markets have just celebrated their first birthday - a milestone that reflects the power of community-led access to fresh, affordable food. In just over a year, these markets have become welcoming spaces where people can connect, share, and shop with dignity.

By bringing culturally relevant produce closer to where people live, we’re helping remove barriers to healthy food and strengthening local food systems.

Introducing Liana, the new Melton Market Manager. A recent graduate of Exercise and Nutrition Science, Liana is passionate about making healthy, nutritious food accessible to all. For her, food is the heart of family and connection. We're fortunate to have her skills and love for produce—especially mangoes and beans—managing our market. The Community Grocer recently celebrated 10 incredible years of operating our vibrant community markets! We held a fantastic 10th birthday party at Djerring Flemington Hub, connecting with new supporters and catching up with long-time community members. The event was proudly catered by several of the micro-enterprises that thrive at our markets, offering a delicious taste of the talent and flavours within our community.
